Professional lawn mowing across the Eastern Suburbs

Whether it's a small courtyard in Paddington or a large backyard in Maroubra, I take care of lawns across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. Every mow includes edging along paths and garden beds, whipper snipping weeds from the pavement, and blowing clippings off your paths and driveways.

I'm Matthew, and I run Eastside Gardens as a one-man operation. That means you get the same person every visit — someone who knows your garden and takes pride in the result. Most clients start with a fortnightly mow during the warmer months, then switch to a three- or four-weekly cycle over winter when growth slows down.

  • It depends on the season and your grass type. Most Eastern Suburbs lawns are buffalo, kikuyu, or couch, which all grow fastest from October through March. For these, a fortnightly mow during the warmer months keeps the lawn looking sharp without stressing it. Once growth slows from May onwards, a three- or four-weekly visit is usually enough. Kikuyu lawns in full sun (common in places like Maroubra and Coogee) tend to need more frequent cuts in summer than shadier buffalo lawns in Paddington or Woollahra terraces.

  • I catch the clippings as I mow and load them straight into your green bin. If there's more than it can hold, I'll take the rest away for an additional fee — just let me know what suits you.

  • Not at all. Overgrown lawns are one of the most common jobs I do, especially after rentals change hands or if a property's been vacant. The first cut takes longer and we usually drop the height in stages so we don't shock the grass, but within two or three regular visits the lawn will be back to looking how it should.

  • Yes — a lot of my work is in Bondi, Bronte, Tamarama, Coogee and the surrounding coastal suburbs. Salt spray and sandy soil mean lawns near the coast often grow patchy or struggle in summer heat. I keep the cut height a little higher in these spots to help the grass shade its own roots and hold moisture better.

  • I work right across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs — Maroubra, Malabar, South Coogee, Bondi, Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee, Randwick, Kensington, Queens Park, Waverley, Woollahra, Paddington, Double Bay, Edgecliff, Rose Bay, Bellevue Hill, Vaucluse, Dover Heights, Watsons Bay and everywhere in between. If you're nearby and not on the list, just give me a call — chances are I can help.
